Hello to all National co-ordinators and Contintental representatives,
When adding new references to the on-line WWFF Directory, could you please also take the time to add the latitude and longitude of the reference you are adding.
The reason for this request is that Alena OK2APY is doing some magnificent work behind the scenes with mapping WWFF references. However for Alena to complete her mapping work, the latitude and longitude of the reference is required.
By National co-ordinators and Contintental reps doing this little piece of extra research when data entering, a lot of extra work by Alena herself, is removed.
New references will no longer be approved until the latitude and longitude information has been provided.

Sure I will add coordinates. Few days ago I started discussion about new LZFF references. Also I found out that some existing LZFF references are with wrong coordinates and I will inform Alena to change them. 73&44 de LZ2HT

For newest 50 new references we provided coordinates of the center, WW-loc and additional info.
Moreover, we are ready to provide her with data about new RFFs in the most approximate for the map format on request, so that the appearance of new marks on the map occurs as quickly as possible.

Just now I have no info about “old” RFF’s, prepared for using, except numbers and names. The collecting and preparing of data requires some time.

Thank you very much Pit, I have this link. But in this map are not all refs, and coordinates need to be delivered also on WWFF page I am do not have preferences fer this, must add regional coordinator or manager.

I suggest to add the following information to every reference, in addition to the all important coordinates: number of trees and fauna population (roughly), availability of public restrooms, benches and tables (of course these should be shown on the map too!). Wouldn’t that make an activator’s life much easier?
Hannes, coordinates are good also if you planing holiday in other country (example), this is not only for “home” activators. And other is work example fer OSM (Open Stereet Map) community (restrooms, benches and tables etc)

I am sorry to hear that you believe providing co-ordinates for new references is in some way part of a bureaucratic process. It is just making it a little easier for Alena and her efforts in the mapping process which will ultimately assist all WWFF participants. As a National co-ordinator myself, I have no issue in this small imposition.
I hope that you continue to be an active participant in the WWFF program.

I appreciate the mapping project just like anyone else, but making coordinates a necessity for adding new references is not ok in my opinion. I have spent many hours in collecting info about DU-references but they will not be added without coordinates? I call this bureaucratism, you call it else.
I regret but after 28000 QSO’s and 7 years of activating I think i will abandon all WWFF-activity.

The easy way to do this, is not to approve new areas that do not have the latitude and longitude of the reference…..
