Here are the September 2025 WWFF statistics. Steady going with over 150,000 QSOs in activator logs.
Six national programs reported over 10,000 QSOs, with OZFF in Denmark putting in an exceptionally strong effort, fb.
We’re in the solar maximum. So a free tip: the autumn usually brings further improved band conditions, so be sure to spend some time on the DX-rich high bands while you activate and hunt!

Lars Phono PH0NO already posted a lot of data from the WWFF 2025 August Activity Month. Please also check out the awards that may be coming your way: https://wwff.co/2025/09/wwff-august-event/
Here is another view of the August 2025 WWFF statistics, formatted in the regular “Monthly Pulse” template. The database extract is from early October, with “late” logs explaining the difference in QSOs compared to the material in the link above. Over 200,000 QSOs, so a very active month!
The numbers below complete the 6m/VHF/UHF statistics for the nothern hemisphere’s summer season of 2025. Did anybody experience sporadic-E openings on 2m?
| Band | April | May | June | July | August |
| 6 meter | 352 | 392 | 542 | 695 | 301 |
| 4 meter | 1 | 0 | 5 | 0 | 30 |
| 2 meter | 1073 | 1383 | 1027 | 1641 | 1311 |
| 70 cm | 545 | 870 | 507 | 869 | 729 |

We all enjoyed a successful August activity month this year. In this one month almost 200,000 WWFF QSOs were made between 614 activators and 37,000 hunters. A big increase from the activity we saw in the August activity of 2024.
Around 2400 awards are available for the activators and hunters that managed to meet the criteria. Awards can be checked and downloaded here: https://wwff.co/awards/wwff-anniversary-awards/
| Top hunters (#Ref) | Top activators (#QSO) | Top activators (#Ref) | Top programs (#QSO) |
| OM5TX OH1MM IK2ECC IK1GPG SP5ZIM SP5M S58AL DF2QZ SP7MW YL2TQ | DL8ECA VK3PF WB0RLJ F4GYM Z35M OH2NOS SP5DU VE9CF F5NLX PS8CW | JG7MRR VK3TDK OH2NOS KB3WAV VK3PF OH3FSR DL8ECA VK3XE VK5DG OK4SU | KFF VKFF OHFF SPFF PYFF DLFF FFF OKFF VEFF JAFF |
So what modes and bands were used in the activity month of August?
SSB remains the most popular option in the field and not surprisingly 20m and 40m are the bands that brought the most QSOs.

And where did the activations take place around the globe?
We saw a truly world wide activity in August – only the penguins did not join in. Based on the amount of QSOs made by the activators the breakdown per continent is as follows:

The WWFF statistics for July are out. HF conditions in the northern hemisphere’s summer have been tough, so 20m and 40m were the “money bands”. Notable is that there were less QSOs on 10m than on 2m! ![]()
The 6m/VHF/UHF stats show a small uptick in July. Can somebody chime in on possible sporadic-E QSOs having been made on 2m?
| Band | April | May | June | July |
| 6 meter | 352 | 392 | 542 | 695 |
| 4 meter | 1 | 0 | 5 | 0 |
| 2 meter | 1073 | 1383 | 1027 | 1641 |
