Another month is gone, and the June WWFF statistics are out! Steady going, with 5 national programs (KFF, SPFF, VKFF, VEFF, OHFF) exceeding 10,000 QSOs.
It’s summer in the northern hemisphere, so the numbers from 6m and up are interesting. A slight increase in 6m QSOs in June as compared to April/May; here are the numbers for April-June for your reference.
A collaborative Kyrgyz-Kazakh amateur radio DXpedition will take place from August 5 to 9, 2025, activating a pristine location on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul under the World Wide Flora and Fauna (WWFF) program and the Green Kyrgyzstan initiative (QRZEX).
This expedition aims to promote eco-conscious amateur radio operations while showcasing Kyrgyzstan’s stunning natural landscapes. Operators will seek contacts worldwide, contributing to WWFF and Green Kyrgyzstan conservation awareness.
Stay tuned for updates on QRZ.com and WWFF’s official cluster.
WWFF stats now in for May, after a one-month wait for log uploads. Similar activity levels as in April.
There was a comment last time by Rumen LZ2AF about QSO numbers on 6m/VHF/UHF being interesting for the summer months, due to the presence of sporadic-E conditions (6m -> 2m).
So in preparation for June/July/August, here are the numbers for April and May as comparison:
WWFF Team would like to invite all WWFF Activators and Hunters to participate in
“The WWFF August ActivityMonth”.
The activity event will start at 00:00 UTC on August 1st and finish at 23:59 UTC on August 31st.
WWFF Activators are invited to be active from WWFF areas as much as possible.
A big opportunity for our hunters to work new WWFF areas and increase their score.
We recommend all Activators to use the WWFF Agenda and the WWFF Facebook Group to inform the WWFF Hunter community of their plans.
After each activity the Activators have to send in their logs to the log manager responsible for the areas they activated.
The deadline for sending in logs to count towards this special event is September 21st.
To facilitate the special award processing we ask the activators – especially when using vanity /special event calls or group calls – to make sure the operator field in their logs is populated with their home callsign.
The log uploaders then have untill September 21th to check and upload the logs. By September 30th we will start generating the awards and rank lists based on the available data in WWFF LogSearch.
Participation Awards
On September 30th WWFF will publish awards for Activators and Hunters.
