WWFF Top Operators

I am pleased to report that, after much deliberation and experimentation, we have overcome the problems that have prevented the reliable generation of the Top Operator pages.

As such, these should now again be generated overnight (UTC).

Thanks to Manfred DF6EX for his assistance!

Note: the results do not (at present) differentiate between single-operator and club-stations.  I hope to resolve this in due course.

As before, these are intended to be indicative, and are not intended to be definitive – they work by aggregating the OPERATOR and HUNTER fields within logs… so activators, when using a club- or special-event callsign, please remember to correctly populate the OPERATOR field!

Happy New Year from M0YMA

To get the new year underway, the following updates have been launched this morning:

  • Logsearch
    • All remaining problems with the Park-To-Park award are now resolved (I think!)
  • Directory
    • The addition of a further 24 SPFF entities
    • The addition of a further 33 KFF references (all from Michigan)
    • The addition of a further 15 SPFF entities
    • The addition of a further 91 SPFF entities
    • The addition of a further 2 URFF entities
    • A number of other edits and revisions

A request for assistance!

Over the past year (or so), I’ve completely re-written WWFF Logsearch as a WordPress plugin, to integrate within this main WWFF.CO website. This has mostly been completed… however, the ToDo list (for completion, but especially for new features) remains quite long and I just do not have much spare time…

So I am looking for a suitable competent person (or persons) to help with further Logsearch development – or maybe to take it over completely?!

Skills required are:

  • WordPress development
    • Strong PHP
    • MySQL
    • CSS
    • Javascript
  • Site-security and data-protection are essential to maintain confidence in the program.

Note: this is not something for a “hobby hacker”!

Updated 2017-01-04 – this has now been resolved!

To respond to the (what seems like) near constant barrage of requests for Top Operators…

I’m having major issues persuading the WordPress installation on this site to run a scheduled task to update the Top Operators data… this means it is not yet active. Unfortunately, the problem is not encountered on my test server…

The Top Operators page will be active and populated as soon as I can work out the problem, but in the interim, please do not keep asking!

PS: Park-To-Park confirmations are in the same position

We are aware of some issues with some emails that are spammed.

wwff_helpdeskFirst of all be sure to register (in the left bar menu). When done and if you don’t receive an email with your password within 15 minutes, please mail the WWFF Helpdesk at dannyATon4vt.be. A new password will be generated.

When registered and login is OK please go to your profile and fill in your PRIMARY CALLSIGN, CONTINENT and DXCC

In the next days all functions will be enabled step by step.

Yes even in 2016 it’s still a big job to migrate almost 8 million QSO’s and more than 12.000 activated references !
