New WWFF team members – ON4VT and ON4BB

Tags

As you all have noticed we have migrated to a new website developed by Danny ON4VT. We hope you like it (we do :). Danny has joined the WWFF team earlier this year to take care of more than just our web presence. Danny will look after our public relations – within the WWFF community and in the world outside of WWFF. We hope that with the help of Danny we can expand WWFF and increase activity especially in parts of the world where there is little today.

There is another change in the WWFF team: after almost 3 years I have decided to step down as chairman of WWFF, because of other commitments outside the hobby. We are lucky to have found a good successor in Luk ON4BB. Luk will take over as WWFF chairman as of now. I wish him luck and fun in his new position. He has a good team to work with.

Looking back I am proud of what all involved WWFF enthusiasts have accomplished since the rough start we had with this program at the end of 2012. I am confident that – with the help of all these dedicated people – the program will continu to grow in size and importance in the ham radio community.

Enjoy the program – make nature your shack!

Gxff references now 4-digit number

Tags

WWFF started to convert the reference numbers into uniform 4 digit numbers. This will be done division by division.

The GxFF division made now already the change from GxFF-yyy to GxFF-yyyy

We will inform all divisions when the change will happen. At the end of the conversion we will have only 2 correct ways to identify a divison :

XFF-YYYY or XXFF-YYYY

(depending on the national prefix)

GreenParty 2016 siglaFebruary, still wintertime. June and summer seems to be far away but time passes quickly.
It is time to think about the GreenParty 2016.
The goal is that the GreenParty becomes a traditional meeting, all  WWFF Country Divisions are invited to add this event to the calendar year.

For the rules check  GREENPARTY 2016. New is that now you can make QSOs valid for the new P2P certificate (park to park).
But the WWFF award program contains of course numerous other diplomas.
It is also the goal to be in the middle of nature in one of the longest days in the northern hemisphere. You can start in daylight very early and making a long day until sunset. Those wishing to stay overnight can do it depending by local various accommodation possibilities and can activate also on Sunday.
We are ready to receive any proposal to contribute.
We’re recommending to use the new GreenParty logos for all activities  on June 4, 2016.
Good luck
YOFF team

6.000.000 QSO’s in Logsearch!

New milestone was reached.
In just less of one year we have an other million QSOs in our data base!
01.05.2015 – 03.01.2016
It is time to say again: Thank you ! to all our participants in WWFF activities. Activators, Hunters, National coordinators, also for you who read this info!  Each of you put a small piece in this “building”.
As I saw in bands it is just a life style now for many of us. Watching, prepare for departure to protected areas, hunting for activators, request awards for your results.

It happens every day.

It is my honor to show this “Certificat” for QSO  No.6,000,000 to:
M0PAI/P@GFF-301 with HA8DD  20m/SSB  2016-01-03 10:46 UTC

Work to collect historic logs continues parallel to the “normal operation” where validated logs of current operations are uploaded to the WWFF database by the local coordinators.

If you think a log is still missing or you possess an activity log, please contact your local coordinator (list can be found here).
