ParticipantHello, WWFF Team,
I have a question that I could answer by uploading a factice Log to WWFF then aborting before conclusion; but to avoid problems, I ask it here, as it maybe simpler, if somebody will / may answers me here.Question: what happens if I upload a Log were a QSO has this infos:
SIG = SOTA SIG_INFO = HB/TI-001
that is clearly a QSO between an HBFF activating station (MY_SIG_INFO = HBFF-0666) and a station from a SOTA Reference ?
Will that SIG and SIG_INFO data be ignored and the log uploaded correctly, or will that QSO cause an error message and abort the uploading? Many thanks for your help, 73 44, Augusto HB9TZA

ParticipantHi Augusto,
Usually QSOs with a SIG_INFO that doesn’t correspond to a valid WWFF reference causes an error during upload, and the log cannot be uploaded before the error is fixed. This is most commonly encountered when there is a typo in the reference.

ParticipantThanks Kim,
My question was more related to the SIG string content.I know by experience that a typo or even an invalid reference in the SIG_INFO field will cause upload abort, very right and necessary.
My doubts came considering a log with multiple Awards correspondents, thus giving in the raw station log many different strings(i.e. the awards names) in the SIG field, with corresponding non WWFF references listed in the related SIG_INFO .
Today I received such a log, and so tried to upload it “raw” that is, with all these different strings (awards names) in the SIG field, and not only the two fields for WWFF , as we usually did “cleaning” the raw logs received. What I have seen, is that the upload checker does is task very fine: it ignores all SIG fields not containing the “WWFF” string and the related SIG_INFO field; and upload only these having the right string “WWFF” into the SIG field.
But, more important and the answer to my question, it does NOT abort if there are other SIG fields containing different strings not WWFF.
So, that soft does it very fine as it does: it uploads only the SIG and related subfields if these are for WWFF . Chapeau!
That was what I was looking for; I write it here, maybe it’s useful information for other hams, too .
Thanks Kim for your help!

ParticipantBut, to be sure that 2+2 gives 4 …
Manfred or WWFF Staff: may you please check that the uploaded Log #00193063 does not contain garbage?
I want to be really sure that the SIG fields non-WWFF and related subfields are not uploaded and stored in the WWFF Database.
I can not check it more than reading the messages by the upload itself. By these, it seems SIG fields not having the string WWFF into them will not be considered. But to check it may be better and safer. May somebody check and confirm?
Many thanks! 73, Augusto HB9TZA / I2JJR
