Many callsigns familiar to WWFF’ers are heard activating and hunting on the bands daily. Likewise, WWFF national program volunteers keep the local wheels turning and churn out new ideas to develop their programs.

We would like to do a series of brief WWFF blog & Facebook posts that help us get to know each other better, and that enable the sharing of ideas between individuals and national programs. Posts such as “Meet Karl, DL1ABC”, or “Meet the Canadians: VEFF”.

==> We are now looking for one or more volunteer “editors” to manage this recurring post series (for example once a week). As a foundation, we plan to have a battery of questions that can be distributed to selected individuals/programs so as to help in composing the brief posts.

Event: Get Your Park ON! Mosquito Madness
Dates: June 21–22, 2025 (0000–2359 UTC)

Highlights:

  • Open to all WWFF Activators and Hunters worldwide
  • Celebrates the summer solstice by providing hunters everywhere with the opportunity to boost their reference totals
  • Features Special Event Stations (SES), using 1×1 callsigns (e.g., N5G).
  • Hunters are encouraged to contact multiple SESs, with recognition for working 5+ SESs, or achieving a “Clean Sweep” of all SESs
  • SES station details and QRZ pages will be updated at event start.

Certificates of Achievement:

  • Hunters: Contact 10 WWFF references and/or 5 SESs (in increments of 5)
  • Activators: Activate 2 WWFF references with at least 44 QSOs each
  • Certificate Request: Send email to n9mm.norm@gmail.com with total references worked, or activated, and # SESs  stations logged. No log data required.

WWFF’s new Spots and Agenda service is launching this weekend on Sunday, June 1st. You will find the service as subframes on the https://wwff.co website as usual.

OHFF management updates

Several updates to the OHFF program management took place this week:

  • National coordinator: Kim, OH6KZP, taking over from Timo, OH5EUY / OH5Y
  • Award manager: Jukka, OH4MFA, taking over from Petteri, OH6PV
  • Log manager: Juha, OH8CW, taking over from Kim, OH6KZP

Lasse, OH2BAV, continues as reference manager, and Keijo, OH2OT / OG55W, as QSL manager for the special call OH44FF.

Thanks to Timo and Petteri for their many years of service! I’m looking forward to developing the OHFF program further together with a good team. 73 & 44!
