Yesterday (Sun 15/1/2017), myself, Chris VK5FR, and David VK5KC, headed down south to activate the Encounter Marine Park VKFF-1707. This was the first time that the park had been activated, and all three of us qualified the park for WWFF with in excess of 44 contacts each.
We enjoyed a great afternoon on the beach near the mouth of the mighty Murray River. Finished off the afternoon with a few beers at one of the local pubs in Goolwa, and then a nice meal at Strathalbyn. Continue reading

Winner in Multi operator category is ON4WRC/p operators ON4ON (Danny) & ON5SY (Harvey) & ON7PO (Eddy)
In the single caterory first 10 receives an award, were in the Multi category first 5 receives an award.

On Sunday January 8th OZFF Group would like to invite all WWFF Hunters and OZFF Activators to OZFF New Years Hunt 2017.
The Event starts at 12:00 UTC and ends 14:00 UTC.
Activators have to stay in an OZFF area and will get 1 point for every QSO. Each Hunter-station may be worked one time pr. Band / Mode.
Hunters who have worked 3 different OZFF areas or more can apply for an special Award at www.ozff.dk
We hope / believe that 5-6 stations, perhaps more, will be on the air from different OZFF areas. Deadline for registration is at January 1st. Before the start a list of active stations / OZFF areas will be public.
This event is mainly to have some fun, but also to promote Flora Fauna in Denmark. We hope to have 1-2 “First time” Activators on the air.
If this become a succes, We will do it soon again

I am pleased to announce that we have changed the name of the “USACFF” award to the “KFF-States” award. The name was changed because we wanted to have a “worked all states” type of award, but of course, the United States is not its own continent, and part of North America.
We are only opening up the first wave of 7 states worked first so that stations can claim the first award, and we will be opening up more states in the coming weeks in these waves: 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42 and finally, all 50 states. To claim the 7 state award, please visit Logsearch after you have registered, and click on the appropriate button to apply.
If you already have been granted a “USACFF” award, please go back to apply for the new KFF-States version. If you wish to retain your original serial (e.g. 001), I can issue it as (001P) to acknowledge the prototype.

Busy activation from PAFF-0055, using the special call PA44FF.
I wrote about my experiences on my blog (see link). In short: 296 calls logged from 39 DXCC. 3 P2P. 99% EU but some DX including JA. 20m was quite okay for EU, 40m was one big contest QRM hell.
