To help current and future WWFF national coordinators, we’ve created a new tutorial about running a WWFF national program.
It’s available at the bottom of https://wwff.co/rules-faq/, or directly at https://wwff.co/wwff_cont/uploads/2025/04/WWFF_NationalProgramTutorial_April2025.pdf
Any feedback is appreciated, so that we can continue to improve and create similar tutorials!

Development of the core software for the WWFF award program started back in 2012 by Andrew M0YMA. Andrew has been keeping the application alive on his own all these years, for which we are grateful.
With an ever growing user base and new ideas to improve the program, the time Andrew had available became a bottleneck.
We are happy that other software developers stepped forward this year to help WWFF out and relieve Andrew. At the moment we have a team consisting of Hugo CT7AOV and Jouni OH3CUF with the IT support of Edwin PD0SOT that is already working on the software. Recently three more volunteers have stepped forward from VK to expand the IT development team further.
It is great to see these skilled people spend part of their spare time helping our program move forward. The new team has already implemented the first changes to the WWFF software with bug fixes and new award levels.
There is an existing backlog of items the team is working on but we are also looking at ways to make it easy for users to propose changes that – if we find them valuable – will end up on the development backlog. Watch this space!

->>-SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT-<<-
Our award manager for WWFF hunter and activator awards DL1JKK has stepped down for personal reasons. First of all we want to thank him for his services to our WWFF community. Thanks Karl!
To continue bringing the award pleasure to all hunters and activators, Hugo CT7AOV has stepped in to take over for now while we are looking to automating this process further. Thanks Hugo!
While Hugo is picking up the work please QRX.

Out of 1150 chasers that contacted one of the 28 different PAFF activities over the weekend of April 9 and 10, 250 chasers have achieved award levels bronze, silver or gold.
The top chaser – SP8LEP – managed to make 29 contacts, reaching 22 different activities (plus some extra band/mode QSOs). While the number two on the list – OH1MM – managed to reach the most activities – 24 out of the maximum 28.
On the DX side KD1CT was the (expected?) winner but worth mentioning are Paul and Marija that made it into the top 10 all the way from OC.

Next weekend PAFF will host a WWFF activity weekend. The same weekend a number of new references will be added to the PAFF program.
The activity runs on Saturday April 9 and Sunday April 10. All QSOs count towards the regular PAFF and WWFF awards but we will make a special award available for chasers of this activity weekend. There will be three levels for the chasers: gold, silver and bronze. We will have a separate category for EU and DX chasers.
Points for these awards can be collected by working a participating activator at a PAFF location (5 points for each new combination) and revisiting that activator on other bands or modes (2 points for each new band or mode). The top 5% in both categories (EU and DX) will receive a gold award. Silver will be offered for scores in the top 5-10% while the top 10-20% will receive a bronze award.
The participants and their plans can be found on the PAFF website (in Dutch): PAFF activity weekend
Weather forecast is not brilliant but we are looking forward to a lot of activity.
